TRENDS THAT SWAHILI FASHION WEEK PREDICTS FOR 2019

December 03, 2018 Being Anastazia 0 Comments

Like any other Swahili Fashion Week, it has been a great prediction for the the future trends. Designers from across East Africa and within meet up to bring to the stage their influences on what the future trend should be.

Approaching end of the year, we are eager to prepare for the coming year's blessings but fashionistas are eager to know what to throw into their closets.

Here is the Top five list of most influenced items on the Swahili Fashion Week Stage.

1. BASKET BAGS #MAKAPU/ #VIKAPU

Yes, you are probably thinking but my mom has them or what's new? what is new is the force to actually become a trend.
The #makapu trend is definitely the way to start #2019,  We see designer houses like Bijoux Trendy and Kisusi Design stress on the factor, we say LET'S TAKE IT AND RUN.

2. YELLOW

Many designers used this color on the runway, rumor has it that #2019 color of the year is Cavern Clay but looks like Tanzania will have to pass on that as yellow is on the stage ladies and gents.
Designer houses such as Capella Fashion in his awesomely #Bethetalk collection where he straight up made us talk about the collection.

3. HEAD PIECES

4. JUMPSUITS & ROMPERS FOR MEN

#Palse_SA blew us away with the "blue bahari" male jumpsuit, see the model #JaymesAloub in the jumpsuit making him very flattery. Check out the link with PALSE_SA
We are very excited to see celebs and icons try out this look. We hope Tanzanian men will open their minds to this.

5. SAMUEL ZEDABAYO

Yes!! the designer predicts the trend should be his brand. The designer blew us away with male sweat pants and his boxers with his name printed on them and right when we think he is done with us he tells us actually men need waist belts and capes again with his name printed on. We found this collection pretty impressive with the male jumpsuits and everything all together.
